Biggest Overnight Success: Shops at Legacy

Actually, it took more than three years for the Shops at Legacy retail project to make it off the drawing board and onto the backlands of West Plano.
And during that time, two of the biggest new shoping centers in the country - Stonebriar centre and Shops at Willow Bend regional malls - opened in the same neighborhood as the 23-acre retail and restaurant complex in the Legacy business park.
But developer Karahan Cos. was right in supposing that Plano residents and workers would like an alternative to "The Mall."
The open-air shopping district from opening day on, and the construction of a new Angelika art house theater is likely to draw even more visitors.
